Historical Herrara Estate. 

Cocoa workers would travel by foot carrying cocoa on the backs of donkeys seven miles to the nearest village Grand Chemin. The only route is along the coast with no access roads, thus workers would watch the tide to ensure a safe journey before transporting cocoa.

My husband's grandmother spent her whole life working and living  on cocoa estates in trinidad, primarily in moruga. Before she passed away, i was able to glean knowledge from  her vast experience of cocoa.
